New at formary: Online Shop for Standard Inserts

With its new online shop for standard inserts, formary offers manufacturing companies a central point of contact for easily purchasing inserts for the safe storage and transport of components in Euronorm containers and similar container sizes. Co-founder Lisa-Marie Bitter explains what makes the online shop special and what possibilities it offers.

formary has launched its first online shop for standard inserts. What was the motivation behind it?

Online-Shop Mockup

The idea stemmed from the demand of manufacturing companies needing secure packaging for their components during production, storage, and transport. Many companies already use Euro containers but face challenges when loose components get damaged in transit. To enhance component safety, a suitable insert with properly designed nests is required.

With our online shop, we aim to make high-quality inlays and inserts for safe component storage and transport easily accessible. The shop serves as a central platform offering inserts that fit all common external container sizes, such as Euro containers and SLCs. Our goal is to provide SLC inserts in a transparent, centralized way, reducing both time and effort for our customers.

What standard sizes and products does the online shop offer?

We currently offer over 200 thermoformed inserts, tailored to standard container sizes and featuring between 3 and 320 component wells. The inserts are designed to ensure that components can be stored and transported safely and without damage – which means fewer complaints and less waste due to damage.

Each insert is also available in ESD-rated material, which prevents static discharge and protects sensitive electronic components. Most inserts are in stock and can be supplied immediately in small quantities.

What advantages does this bring to industrial customers?

The advantage is that customers can find a suitable solution straight away, without long waiting times. This enables many businesses to place orders quickly and easily – without having to rely on customisation or long lead times. Furthermore, there are no tooling costs, which are often a significant cost factor in production. Businesses can therefore be confident that we combine quality and efficiency in a practical solution.

In addition, customisations to meet specific requirements are also possible, and we offer full-service solutions that can incorporate additional inserts, such as PE or PU foam, to stabilise the components. Furthermore, the formary network can custom-print the inserts, which is particularly useful for product range boxes to ensure that components can be identified directly on the inserts.

How can customers test the inserts before placing a larger order?

We always provide samples so that our customers can test the insoles directly in their specific applications. Furthermore, we have no minimum order quantities and offer small batches starting from 10 pieces. This allows customers to purchase flexibly, even in smaller batch sizes. The exception to this is ESD insoles, which have a small minimum order quantity of 50 pieces.

There is no upper limit on order quantities – several thousand is no problem. In that case, however, it may be worth configuring a product-specific and customised insert in the formary configurator and creating a dedicated mould.

I’ve identified my needs and found formary. How do I select the right insert?

Our online shop is designed for easy navigation, allowing customers to find the right product in just a few clicks. We’ve integrated a feature called the "Inlay Finder," which gathers key requirements and suggests suitable inserts. Alternatively, customers can send us their components, and we’ll find the best-fitting solutions for them – including sending samples directly.

The shop already offers a comprehensive range. Does formary plan to expand its product selection?

Absolutely! Our long-term goal is to connect with all the major thermoformed inserts and trays on the European market and make them available to our customers. By acting as a platform that collaborates with various manufacturers, we not only offer a wider selection but also create greater transparency for our customers.

They no longer need to trawl through numerous suppliers to see if there is a standard solution for their product. Customers should be able to easily find all the standard inserts available on the market and compare them directly – transparently and efficiently.

So the shop is intended to become a one-stop shop for standard deposits?

Yes. As our mission at formary is to make it as easy as possible for customers to purchase thermoformed parts of all kinds, we aim to cater comprehensively to all their needs. Our goal is to continually expand our product range, offer high-quality solutions, and ensure that the procurement process is as flexible, straightforward and swift as possible.
